SELF STARTER CHAIN BOLT. In view of the likelihood of the bolt coming adrift, a recommendation was made some considerable time ago for this bolt to be replaced by the special [strikethrough]headed[/strikethrough] spring steel clip. This we find is now coming through on several chains. There are still, however, a number of chains on which the bolt is used. We are receiving complaints, including one recently from America, that this bolt is coming adrift. Will you please therefore instruct that no further chains are supplied for this drive unless fitted with the spring clip above referred to. Will you also arrange to supply me with a quantity (about 6 dozen) master links and spring clips so that we can arrange that no further cars are despatched unless fitted with this device, which we have reported to America is now being done.
