To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from HDY.{William Hardy} HDY.{William Hardy}2/HP.22.3.34. c. Lor. Mr Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Day. RV. RMS. Change Gear and Brake Levers. Phantom S.M. 2nd. We are sending herewith N. Sch's 4016,7 and 8 which show the above levers and the modifications which are necessary to various frame fittings to provide for the more forward positions of the levers compared with the present Phantom. With regard to the step irons and body brackets, we have only indicated how these may be dealt with as no doubt the Coachbuilding Department will desire to determine their treatment. Compared with the present car the gear lever is 2" longer and the brake lever is unaltered in length, but is dropped bodily somewhat. The gear lever knob is in almost the same position in top and 2nd gears as on the present car except in the lateral direction in which it is .3" nearer to the centre line of the car. In the 1st and 3rd gears the knob will be about 2" higher than now. Will you please send prints of these drawings to EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
