To R: from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}: c. to BJ. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG19.7.28. ----------------- 20 HP. PISTON. X5040 ----------------- The section of the piston which failed in 10-C-lll car is identical to the ones fitted to the 2400 20 HP. cars which have been delivered. We have always used a die cast piston on the 20 HP. We are sending the piston which failed to WW. In the meantime we are pushing on with the new piston you have sent us and expect to have a set of these fitted into the 20 HP. car we hope to deliver to you next week. As regards the scraper rings. We have been trying to get away from the 'L' section rings; recently we have fitted a car with full section rings. We believe we shall be able to use this type. Tests will also be made on the scraper rings you suggest. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
