On the flowmeter the coarse gauze filter passes petrol at the rate of 514 pints per hour. With the fine gauze 450 pints per hour. The maximum demand of the Phantom III engine is about 120 pints per hour. On the Unit test bed, we have proved that a fine filter can have more than two-thirds of its area stopped up by solder before the engine shows signs of petrol starvation. | ||
