1208 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG.4/ET. 14th November, 1940. Messrs Wilmot-Breeden, Ltd., Eastern Works - Camden Street, BIRMINGHAM. Attention Mr. Spicer. Dear Sirs, As arranged on the telephone this morning, we are returning to you the sample lock, so that you can make the necessary modifications. While this may cause some delay, we feel that, in order to get a really satisfactory test, the angle of the dovetail should be altered to 20° as suggested by you. We also think that the angle position will have to be modified. Unfortunately the car to which this lock is to be fitted is not at the moment available, but we understand from the man who fitted the lock which is at present on the car, that it will be necessary for a modification to be made. We understand that a sketch showing what is required was supplied to you some months back, for you to make the necessary modifications to the lock at present fitted to one of our cars. We should be glad if you would get the modifications carried out as quickly as possible so that we may have the lock fitted and decide whether we consider it advisable to arrange for the new design of body we have in hand to accommodate this type of lock. Yours faithfully, | ||
