Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Sirs, Your esteemed favour of the 30th ult., addressed to Messrs. S. Smith & Sons (M.A.) Ltd., Cricklewood, was sent on to the writer by Mr. Dorer, and, on investigating here, we find that the type of magnet fitted to the particular instrument you mention had not quite the characteristics of our usual magnets. As a matter of fact, it ought not to have been despatched to you in this instrument, because it was only of an experimental nature, and it is in the nature of a mistake on our part for it to have been sent. If you will be kind enough to return the instrument direct to this address, we will at once rectify it, by fitting the correct type of magnet, and return it to you immediately. We also beg to assure you that this cannot occur on further deliveries of instruments. Most careful precautions are being taken to ensure that there is absolutely no error to give slowness. Always at your service, We beg to remain, Yours faithfully, For A.T. SPEEDOMETER CO. LTD., [Signature] Director. | ||
