Referring to your memo ref:- Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/ MJ.20.12.29, Messrs. Chalas & Sons, Ltd, write as follows:- "We thank you for your order of the 21st instant, "No.97794, for one 5 gallon drum of Prestone and "would advise you that our price for this quantity "would be 1/6d. per lb. ex warehouse, London, as "we have to make you the sample price in this instance, "owing to the fact that this product is packed in 40 "gallon drums. "As an experiment, however, we have arranged to ship "over here a consignment of Prestone packed in "American gallon cans and we are making a specially "reduced price for this consignment of 11/- per "American gallon, ex warehouse, London, cans free. "These cans are packed in crates six gallons to the "crate, and before we execute your order we shall be "glad to hear whether you would like us to forward "you one 5 gallon drum at the above price of 1/6d. per "lb or one crate containing six American gallons at "the price of 11/-d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} per gallon.
