EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. to Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} xH295 MERCURY SPARKING PLUGS. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG19.4.21 We cannot believe that there can be any misunderstanding as regards the Mercury Sparking Plugs. The Mercury Sparking Plugs are definitely standardised. We have no such thing as a semi-standardisation. The only qualification we made in the standardisation of Mercury plugs was that, instead of ordering thousands of them we should order 500 and that before any further numbers were ordered, the Experimental Dept., Test Dept., and Repair Dept. should be consulted. As far as the Experimental Dept. is concerned, we have completed our tests on the Mercury plugs and we now await for the Test Dept., and Repair Dept. to use them.
