x4617 To NRC. {N. R. Chandler} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 5/T26.11.25. x4617 x4642 RE DATES OF FIRST FITTING PRESENT STANDARD BATTERIES TO CHASSIS. The dates which I have obtained from the Order Office at which commence the supplying of the present standard batteries for 40/50 and 20 HP. chassis respectively, are as follows :- 40/50. Exide 6RR5. 18.2.24. P & R RR.11. 12.5.24. 20 HP. Exide 6XL3/4. 15.7.24. P & R TBD.7. 23.9.22. I shall be pleased to have from you any information of premature failures of any of these batteries. Perhaps I should remark that the P & R TBD.7's, though the same internally, have had a change of the cell to cell connecting links which are exposed on the top of the battery, e.g. they changed from thin lead-covered copper, to thick all lead links; but the other batteries are the same to-day as when first issued for chassis.
