X3066 BJ. c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} --------- BY16/G.28.3.28. RECEIVED STANDARDISATION SHEETS. Two sheets amongst those recently issued by the Experimental Department are very important, as they constitute very definite improvements, and if the sheets are dealt with promptly the improvements could be got in at the beginning of G.2A series. :- 1/- Shorter pendulum lever - the length of the pendulum lever being reduced from 11" to 9.5". This results in a very material improvement in the steering, particularly at high speeds. 2/- The inclusion of rubber mounted engine feet for the rear of the engine. Both of these have done 10,000 miles on the car that has just recently run in France, and therefore there appears to be no objection to signing up the sheets. There will be no scrap, as I have stopped the alternative material pending a prompt decision. BM BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
