Stromberg Carburetter
and Ventilated Dynamo

With reference to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}3/KW.27.4.36. and E.3/HP.2.5.36. we have now completed comparative tests made between a small dynamo in the standard condition, and the same with the uppermost vent covered with thin sheet bakelite.

In each case a heating test was carried out with practically the same results. There was nothing to indicate that a smaller aera of vent was detrimental to the cooling of the machine.

This, incidentally points to the limited space between field coils, and between pole shoes and armature, inside the machine, as being the deciding factor in the rate of flow of air through the dynamo and not the end bracket or vents.
