X 2738 Insulating Material. I confirm mine Wd{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}10/NJ27.4.21. Yesterday I visited Bullers Ltd. and Taylor,Tunnicliff & Co.Ltd. both of Hanley, and am of opinion that both firms are in a position to manufacture anything we want in the way of electrical porcelain. I think that Taylor,Tunnicliff & Co.Ltd. is the most enterprising of the two firms. They are always engaged in the manufacture of insulators for high tension work. I shall forthwith submit enquiries to both firms and report later. Taylor,Tunnicliff & Co.Ltd. appear to be doing a big trade in what they term "insulating beads"; they make these in all sizes and I am told that the principal use they are put to is to take the place of rubber insulation in situations exposed to high temperatures. I am sending you (R) samples of two sizes of the beads, threaded on wires to show approximately the circle round which they will bend. Will you kindly return these, or a few beads of each size, to me after examination. I am also sending you (R) a sample of porcelain which Bullers Ltd. term their "No.2 Brown Body". This is employed by them for sparking plug porcelains and other applications where considerable heat is present. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} 2 Samples Beads ) herewith. 1 Sample Porcelain) | ||
