oscillation of the sprung mass of the car about its centre of gravity by the road irregularities acting on the front axle.

Para (1) applies to cars now made or nearly so.

" (2) applies to cars still in manufacture, if it is worth consideration at all.

" (3) and (4) of course are intended to apply to future work.

Since writing this we have received your Rl/M14.4.26 and conclude that you do not wish the proposal in para.3. of our letter to be gone on with, so we are going over the arrangement with the rod below the spring again.
