FUSE WIRE FOR LUCAS SWITCHBOXES. x 2575 Replying to your EFC2/T4.12.20. we note you consider that we should wait a further week or two before sending any present fuse wire for fitting to cars delivered with the previous unsatisfactory fuse wire, and we will do as you suggest. With regard to the ventilation of the switchbox, we do not see any objection to cutting hole for ventilation in top of switchbox, provided it is protected from rain and dust which may enter through ventilator of scuttle. A rectangular opening of about 1 1/2" x 1/2" should be ample to release the heated air, as you suggest, but it is a near thing if the fuse carrying capacity is so affected, as we know the heat of the instrument board will vary with different types of body. We do not suggest any more holes in bottom of box. EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn. | ||
