Derby............Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Showrooms Sr/EWP{Mr Punt} II/MLG.19.8.38 Dear "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}", Many thanks for your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/R.13.8.38 which arrived whilst I was away on a short cruise which in spite of bad weather I enjoyed very much. I have made arrangements to send you the model of the Paulin Bentley body and hope that you will receive it in good state. I want to point out that apparently when this model was tested in a tunnel over your side it must have had a screw fixed in the tail portion of the wood work in such a manner that it has caused a split where the two halves of the wood work [handwritten insert: joined together and] Paulin points out that it will be necessary to have this repaired by fixing a little plate to reinforce the wood. Furthermore, this little plate must not project [strikethrough: behind] [handwritten insert: above] the surface of wood. Would you be kind enough to have this done before the model is tested. You will observe that over here they suspend the model in the tunnel by an attachment on the top of the roof. I hope that you will have a good holiday and note that you expect to be back on the 12th of September. I will keep you posted as to when Embiricos car will be finished with repairs due to its last accident. Yours sincerely, "Sr" [Signature] | ||
