Private To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} x40-7. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}2/T15.7.32. In view of the possibility of a conference with you on the production of "Peregrine" quickly, I thought it would help if I gave my considered views as to how the programme could be carried out, and my views generally. I hope they may be helpful. I did remark to R.{Sir Henry Royce} that the gear box looked smaller in proportion when attached to the engine than in our general run of chassis, but of course, I did not express any opinion on the strength of the gears etc. because I have not the necessary data and information to enable me to give an opinion. I am assured by BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}, who has worked out the figures, that the stresses are no greater than in the 20/25 box which gives quite satisfactory service. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} attd. considered views on Peregrine dated 15.7.32. | ||
