HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} BK.{A. Birkett - Commercial Manager} Fm. 540 E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/HP.10.12.36. Chassis Costs - 25/30 HP. Radiator. We have examined the suggestion made in RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/CH.1/IB.8.12.36, and should like to point out firstly that this piece was instructed on the original design Lec. 3763 issued in February 1934, to be chromium plated. There is, therefore, no objection that we know of to it being produced in Dixtampo, and we suggest that the small knob at present rivetted to the cover should be replaced by a finger grip of the same size as that used on the Bentley starting handle cover. We have got to realise however that it will be necessary to produce dies for this piece and that by the time this is done and the new piece is ready the 25/30 HP. chassis may be nearly out of production. It is possible, therefore, that no economy may be obtained unless the alteration is made very quickly. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} should be able to tell us how long it will take to produce the dies and obtain supplies of the new parts and how far ahead we are committed with the present piece. We should be glad ifBY. will produce a detail drawing of the new piece. E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} | ||
