MAGNETO TIMING ON INCREASED H.P. ENGINES. We find it absolutely essential on the new type 2-Falcon engines that in order to get the power at high speeds the magneto advance should be increased from 30° to 35°. This is also confirmed by Mr. Hives; - I shall be glad, therefore, if you will instruct for all future engines in which the normal revs. are to be increased, for this advance to be marked on the annulus gear. At present they are only marked 30°, whereas we are setting them at 35°, or even over. This point should also be settled in connection with the type 3-Falcon and type 8-Eagle engines. Instructions should also be issued for the engines on test to be done while they are being dismantled. EP.{G.
