1021 To: Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} CONFIDENTIAL. 25th. March 1939. BY.S/N. Messrs. Park Ward & Co.Ltd., 473, High Road, Willesden, London N.W.10. Dear Sirs, Re: Side Spare Wheel Carriers - Expl: Cars. We appreciate that on most of the Expl: cars with a domed front wing of modern type and steel wheels, it is not possible to fit the central wheel disc to the side spare wheel, due to the latter fouling the wing. We do not wish you to cut away the wing to clear this central disc, as we propose to use a special disc for the side spare wheel carrier, to cover up the wheel centre which will be more shallow than those used on the road wheels. These remarks apply to 3.B.50. 11.B.5. and 12.B.5. in particular. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. CHIEF ENGINEER - CHASSIS. | ||
