W A Robotham Esq Rolls Royce Limited D E R B Y 13 Jan 1936 Your ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/KW. Dear Robotham, Very many thanks for your most interesting letter of the 10th inst, which I have taken the liberty of forwarding to Mr A R Smith. I am very surprised and annoyed to hear that the brakes on the Lincoln were not functioning properly as I specially instructed our Foreman to see that the car was in 100 per cent. condition, and arranged for it to be driven up to you by our Lincoln Service Manager. The Lincoln brakes are very good indeed in the ordinary way and the weight of our car, complete with body, is 5,680 lbs (short wheelbase 5 passenger Saloon). It would be interesting to know the complete weight of the Phantom III to which you are referring in your letter. Both Mr Smith and myself tried your car out and found it a very attractive proposition indeed. Again thanking you for the most interesting figures you have sent. Yours sincerely, FORD MOTOR COMPANY LIMITED [Signature] Manager - Lincoln Department ABM HTS UL | ||
