Dear Sirs, We regret we have not been able to give you good service in connection with the five experimental wheels which you requested us to make on the 18th November. Immediately on the 19th November we checked over all the odd batches of material in this plant in an effort to find some which was of suitable thickness, and were successful in finding a few sheets suitable for the manufacture of the Spider. We took the first opportunity when the suitable tools were in the Presses to do the first operation on these Spiders, but meanwhile we found difficulty in obtaining supplies of Rimstock of the correct thickness. We tried stockists and then decided to order a ton of material since this was the smallest quantity which suppliers would roll. We again struck a difficulty in obtaining this, due to the fact that we cannot give a Priority Number for the job. We regret that we are unable to give you now a definite promise on the delivery of these wheels, but we assure you that we are also very anxious to complete the job, and we shall do everything possible to hasten delivery.
