X.4215 - BLERIOT CUT-OUT.

The price of the Bleriot cut-out is £1.13.6d..

The first two samples operated excellently on the bench and it would appear that the only objection to one of these on the car has been the noise of coming in and out.

In further samples we have received from Bleriot the quality has not been maintained and trouble has been experienced so that we have had to return a number, and still these are not consistently good like the first two samples. Therefore, we are not at present in a position to thoroughly recommend these.

The Smith cut-out, although more bulky, really seems more promising. The price is almost identical with the Bleriot - £1.13.9d. A failure of a Smith cut-out on our experimental cars is unknown, and the operation is quiet.

We yesterday received two further cut-outs from Messrs. Smith made up with the R.R. fuse holder for the field fuse. These have not yet been bench tested but appear to be excellent.

A fuller report on the cut-out will be contained in the summary to be sent. We have also to mention the new C.A.V. cut-out and the new Lucas cut-out recently received.
