-2- Q 5. Oil lever indicator. Your views on a dashboard oil level indicator as compared with the present type. Quote make of indicator of which you have experience. A We do not ask for this dashboard instrument. Q 6. Throttle Governor Control. Do you think that the usefulness of the throttle governor justifies the cost and complication. (The 20/25 H.P. car has never been fitted with one). A Drop it. Q 7. Any other points on the engine concerning which you think improvements can be made. A We feel it is too early for us to make any definite suggestion, other than to urge for greater accessibility in order to keep down cost of repairs. GEARBOX. Q 1. Silence. Do you think the silence qualities of the gearbox can be improved? Is a silent second speed gear required? Quote the makes of any other cars which are considered superior to our own in this respect. If they are of a different system of gearbox do you think they are generally superior to our synchro-mesh or have they drawbacks which counteract the value of extra silence. A.{Mr Adams} Obviously silence on all gears is desirable and ideal such as with epicyclics, but otherwise we feel that second gear must be included in silence and easy-change. Q 2. Ease of Gear Change. Do you think there are any possible improvements that can be made over the present synchromesh system of 3º and top gear change? Is a synchromesh change for second gear in your opinion needed? Quote names of any other system of gear change which you consider to be an improvement on synchromesh. A See above. Q 3. Any other points on gearbox about which you can suggest improvements - lubrication etc. A | ||
