X4038 PN.{Mr Northey}1/WT9.3.31. S/W. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}..from PN.{Mr Northey} Petrol Gauges. Referring to your conversation on the 'phone to-day I have been in communication with both H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} and Messervy at N. but fear that my information so far is not very definite. The latter certainly thinks that since the introduction of the fuse-joint, complaints arising from the old trouble before its adoption are altogether fewer, but it would appear that there have been numerous complaints, although less recently, arising out of condensation in the air-pipe, in which case they have taken this line down, blown through it and re-erected, making sure the joints are good. The quarterly complaints of course merely intimate the number of cases giving trouble without indicating the chassis numbers - detailed information of course from the various depots would give the data you want. It would appear that the complaints are general. PN.{Mr Northey} [Stamp: RECEIVED SFS 1931 MAR] | ||
