Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Lpl/C/11.4.40. REPORT. Submitted in all humility - with complete opposition to any suggestion that superlative skill or crass folly were required!! Car - 8.B.V. Journey - Derby Works to St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Alban's traffic lights. Time - 1 hour 47 mins. Distance by speedometer - 103 miles. Road conditions - fair, but met three long Military convoys coming in opposite direction!! Petrol consumption, including above, for 143 miles - total 7 gallons. Oil consumption - 2 quarts.
