With reference to your memo PN{Mr Northey}6/DN19.9.24. we are arranging to fit the correct front axles to the three Trials Cars, commencing on Monday next. We understand from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} that suitable front springs have now been ordered, and we will arrange to fit these as soon as they are available, together with suitable gaiters. Incidentally, we are having to turn a number of cars down on test due to the noise from the Servo gear which we do not consider to be passable. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} informs us that "as a result of our experiments, we are in a position to recommend modifications which will reduce the noise but we do not know of a means of eliminating it altogether. We think you should take an early opportunity of testing these Trials Cars to state whether, in your opinion, the servo gear is a passable job. We think in any case advantage should be taken of incorporating the modification referred to by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} on these cars. EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
