DA {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} 2/CB30-11-20. X.3592 RE GOSHAWK PETROL TANK. -------------------- Please receive two blue prints of "N" Sch: 644 shewing a tank we propose for the first "Goshawk". The capacity is 14 gallons, which we believe is more than Mr Royce intends for the modified Goshawk, but as no definite decision has been arrived at, and 14 gallons is pro rata with the 40/50, we consider this first tank should be made of this capacity. We have also used the 40/50 fittings as far as possible, including the reserve fuel device, petrol connections, and the level indicator, so as to facilitate the production of some sort of petrol tank. It will be remembered that on the first chassis the frame will be 2" shorter than now intended, and it is necessary to take some special steps in order to deal with this. We accordingly send two blue prints of "N" Sch: 660 shewing the suspension of the petrol tank on this frame, and also how the rear cross member of the frame will requir to be bent in order to clear the back axle. Please put details in hand for these parts. DA. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} RECEIVED DEC 1 | ||
