Attached are reports by Wakefields and our Lab- oratory on samples of Castrolite removed from the engine of B.S.V. after 31,800 miles running, during which the oil was not changed. Our Laboratory report also includes the analysis of the sludge which settled out of each of five samples drawn off during the running. The general conditions of the test were as follows:- Mileage. 31,800 miles were covered at medium and high speeds under Continental conditions. Very little traffic or town running. Time. 3 1/2 months. Mid-December to early April. Consumption. 11 gallons added. 2900 m.p.g. Sump capacity. 14 pints. Oil samples taken. A.{Mr Adams} 11,543 miles.
