Messrs.Rolls-Royce Limited,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,
We thank you for your letter of the 1st.instant, and much regret to hear that you have not had satisfactory results from the McNaught Fog-lamp.

We have sold literally thousands of these lamps this winter, and the number of complaints and returns due to unsatisfactory results does not yet reach two figures.

In a few cases, we have traced the trouble to an inefficient earth return, and for this reason we have now adopted a double-contact bulb as standard, as a proper earth connection can usually be found at the back of the dashboard on a S.P.system.

We cannot think that your poor results are due entirely to the lamp itself, and if you would care to have a D.P.lamp for trial, we shall be pleased to send one to you.

The lamp which you are returning has not yet come to hand, but this is probably due to the inadequate postal arrangements during the New Year holidays.

Assuring you of our best attention,

Yours faithfully,
Per Pro McNAUGHT LAMPS LTD.
