DUNLOP RUBBER CO.,LTD. TELEGRAPHIC ADDRESS: 'DUNLOPS. PHONE. BIRMINGHAM.' TELEPHONE: BIRMINGHAM CENTRAL 4108 (P.B.E.) EXTENSION No. 395. YOUR REF: OUR REF: HEPLW.185. FORT DUNLOP ERDINGTON BIRMINGHAM Messrs. Rolls Royce Limited, DERBY. 20th April, 1933. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Robotham. Referring to yours and Mr. Lindsay's visit to Fort Dunlop yesterday, we would confirm that we have in hand for you a set of 5.50-18 tyres in the modified pattern which we submitted to you, and we thank you for your promise to carry out road tests on these tyres. We are making every endeavour to effect an early delivery, but as a new mould is involved, we do not anticipate being able to despatch under 5-6 weeks. As requested, we enclose our prints indicating the approximate profile and dimensions of the following tyres in our Extra Low Pressure range :- 9.00-16 8.25-15 7.50-16 Should you decide to test a set or sets of this equipment, we have plant available and could supply tyres almost immediately, with the exception of the 8.25-15 which we hope will be available in approximately a fortnight's time. Our Coventry Works are in a position to supply the necessary rims or wheels. We feel at this juncture we should mention that these tyres have been introduced in order that manufacturers can form an idea of the way in which the various chassis react when so fitted. The comparatively small demand so far for this equipment has originated from the export market, where conditions are such that a tyre of this type is a necessity. contd... | ||
