Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. WST Meoila BY/RD3/W.26.2.35. DYNAMO FIELD RESISTANCES. With reference to our discussion about dynamos, we have now had the opportunity of checking a number of resistances on production machines. These are as follows :- 40/50 H.P. and Bentley. 6.25 ohms. 20/25 H.P. 5.75 ohms. In view, therefore, of your statement that we should have not less than 6.3 ohms. for successful operation of the regulator, it would appear that some modification should immediately be put in hand and tested on the 20/25 H.P. We have examined a field winding and it is not possible to get in more turns in the spaces available. Therefore, we have either to alter the size of wire or reduce the cross sectional area of the pole in order to provide more space. BY/RD. | ||
