BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to EY. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 47080 E1/M24. 3. 28. EAC.10 CYL: HEAD. X.7050 X.7080 We send you herewith drg. LeC. 2526, shewing a drg. of an inlet pipe to suit the present type of carb. for EAC.10 The object of this scheme was to investigate the question of adapting the existing carb. in spite of the fact that we are hoping to use the variable choke type on which R.{Sir Henry Royce} is working at the present time. One of the points we find which is required to make a neat arrangement is provision for the vertical uptake close in to the cyl. blocks. This requires a niche in the cyl. head as shewn on LeC. 2526, and we are proposing to adopt this feature straight away so as to be ready as far as possible for any type of induction pipe that may be required.
