Bellringer - Repair Manager} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} reported that the French 10,000 miles tests have proved that P.III tyres do not wear any more rapidly than P.II. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} and Sr. have no complaints to make in this connection. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} said that the Experimental Dept. have been unable to detect any difference in durability between different makes, but will look into what will be entailed to fit larger tyres. worst complaints. Depots were asked what were the worst complaints on P.III, and they gave them as :- Wear of bottom tappets. Jaggering clutches. Steering joggles. Heat in front seats during the summer. 20/25 H.P. COMPLAINTS Clutch slips Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} has fitted 3/4 sets of the new graphited bronze clutch facings, and is following the matter up. We have 25 sets in Derby and have ordered a further 40. 25/30 H.P. COMPLAINTS Popping in the Exhaust system Depots have not been satisfied with the cure put forward by the Experimental Dept. and the Depot Sheet has been withdrawn. Slow running The modifications recommended for poor slow running have resulted in an improvement. | ||
