X4273 To EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /Ds3/M.20.8.23. RE GOSHAWK 11 IGNITION COIL. With reference to EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 's complaint, he returned three Ignition Coils stated to be faulty, you will remember that two of these coils were tested and returned to EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} as O.K. Since then one of them, Coil No. 3115, Chassis No.58-S-3, has again been returned faulty (See EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} /CEP4/EC1/7.8.23), and Mr Gamble reports "shorted primary", and in view of these facts BY has withdrawn from service the other Coil, No. 3416, but he wishes you to carefully examine same to see if it is possible to find the cause of the first failure which may be a partial short on the primary and which may, like the other one, fail after short service on a chassis. We should be pleased to hear your comments on this matter as soon as possible. The Coils herewith. BY {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} /Ds. | ||
