contd :- -6- tyres, hydraulic dampers and a spare wheel on the rear, are a very great improvement. 12-EX certainly rode better than any 40/50 HP. car we have ever tried. Actually, although we only altered the friction in the steering system and the side steering and cross steering tube adjustments, we consider that the steering of 12-EX with 6.75" balloon tyres was quite good when we left it, certainly better than some standard cars we have tried. Further tests. We have in view the following tests on the new axle in France :- (a) Establish the true value of the 6" tyres by trying a fresh set from Dunlops. (b) Exploring all settings of the hydraulic dampers. (c) Finding the best compromise for the friction in the steering. (d) Trying stronger and rebound leaf front springs. (e) Investigating the best compromise for the side steering tube springs. (f) Obtaining an impression of the standard axle on this car. ------------------ Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/W.A.Robotham. | ||
