FAULTY DYNAMOS OFF 20/25 CHASSIS GUK.60.

According to Mr. Brocks report this customer has had three new dynamos since Feb., this year.

In each case the commutator solder had run due to excessive heating.

This immediately suggests to us that there is a faulty connection in the dynamo-battery circuit and upon enquiry at the Repair Dept we have found this to be the case, the main positive wire connection to the battery having been since found to be defective.

The point we wish to emphasise is that/is a bad and expensive practice to send a customer away three times with a fault on his electrical system which must have existed it immediately prior to the first dynamo failure and which should have been located before the first new dynamo was fitted.

We suggest in all cases of dynamo failure due to overheating that the Repair Dept's make a special point of testing all connections in the dynamo to battery circuit before allowing a new dynamo to be fitted.

We propose to issue a Depot sheet regarding the above.
