X7800 Dear Sir, RE HEADLAMPS FOR ROLLS-ROYCE CARS. This is to confirm our conversation with yourself at Olympia on Friday last. We were interested to hear that you would consider producing the P.100. type of lamp fitted with dipping and twisting reflectors and having manual operation. We would be very pleased to hear from you that you will be able to let us have a pair of such lamps for fitting to a car we are making for Mr Royce's use and which will have to be completed by the end of November. As our cars are used largely in England and on the Continent, it would seem imperative that the lamps be made to twist in either direction, by some small adjustment in the lamp itself. Instead of the lamp being mounted with trunnions on which the reflector turns, we suggest that these trunnions be on a ring inside the lamps main shell. This ring could be made to be set in two positions or more if required, thus:- [Diagram of a headlamp ring] RING | ||
