contd :- -2- We have evidence that racing people do support this view. The latest 1500 c.c. racing engine designed by Thomas and at present being used by Purdy on the track, has a cast iron crankcase. The T.T. Vauxhall favoured the 1-G-1 type of crankcase. Now that we have proved that the 1-G-1 type of spring drive does not eliminate the main period, we have nothing but the crankcase to account for the behaviour of 1-G-1. It will be remembered that we have the greatest difficulty in detecting periods on this engine even with the damper removed. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
