(6) Head lamp brackets. The design of head lamp brackets is quite inadequate to carry the P.100 lamps steadily. Even on the cars on which we have eliminated the radiator tremble, the lamps vibrate. Experimentally we have overcome the trouble by coupling the two lamps together with a thin rod and carrying the extension on into the wings. There is no doubt that the frame has something to do with this because when we put the 40/50 front cross member in front of the SS.{S. Smith} radiator we immediately steadied the lamps considerably.

(7) Shutter control. We are expecting a scheme from you where the ratio of leverage is modified so as to obtain a fine adjustment when the shutters are opened a small amount. We have not yet had a body on which it is possible to see the engraving on the shutter control from the driving seat.

(8) We think the filler on the Bijur tank is too small.

(9) We cannot use the Bijur drip plug on the water pump owing to the high temperature attained by the meter plug when it is in this position. We propose either to leave this plug off altogether or adopt the 20 HP. scheme of having the meter plug on the chassis.

(10) We have tried out the scheme of small holes in the crankcase baffles. We find that this is a great improvement for almost all conditions. We find however that when we do a real violent pull up, the oil pressure drops as before, but once it has fallen, it takes longer to recover than previously. We suggest in order to overcome this ultra severe braking trouble the oil intake to the pump should be made to face forwards only in the crankcase.
