W/P. To Sr. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell} 1245 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}1/MH.{M. Huckerby}8.12.38. PHANTOM III CONNECTING RODS. In reply to the memo Sr/VA.1/ET.30.11.37 there is no risk with regard to experiencing trouble with the AC.6 alloy connecting rod bushes that have been sent you for fitting to the Paris trials car 3.AZ.20. The diametrical clearance of the Hall's bushes on the crankpins should be between .00225 and .003. The recent trouble with AC.2 is confined solely to this particular alloy.
