TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Copy to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL. SPORTS EAC.II, SPARE WHEEL CARRIER. X8600 We send herewith N.scheme 2105. shewing the modifications to the spare wheel carrier which we propose to overcome the difficulties arising from the use of a 36" frame. We have replaced the dumb irons fitting inside the frame by somewhat similar dumb irons on the outside, and we think if anything that the arrangement is rather better. It will be noticed that the wheel is in the same place and that the central fixings are exactly the same. We are of course confining our attention to the straight sided high pressure tyre for this particular car. We should like to point out that all the information at our disposal, namely, the coachbuilding prints, the frame drawing, and verbal information from HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} confirmed the belief we already had that this car had a 37" frame.
