H4050 x4050 / x4865 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG. 10th. Dec. 1923. Messrs. The Dunlop Rubber Co. Fort Dunlop, Erdington, Birmingham. Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. Macbeth. We are returning to you one of the Inner Tubes off the 7" low pressure tyres which we have been running on a 20 HP. car. You will see by the condition of the tube that it has been chafed through by the edge of the bead on the cover. We should be glad if you will send us another tube to replace this as at present we have no spare. These tyres have so far run 4,340 miles. The covers are entirely free from cuts and it would appear that we shall obtain definitely more mileage than we get with the standard 32 X 4½ tyres. We find that when the tread has worn smooth on these tyres, the advantages of preventing side slip disappear. The comparisons which were made when we first had the low pressure tyres with new 32 X 4½ tyres, showed that there was very much less tendency to skid with the low pressure tyres. Now the treads have worn they appear to have an equal tendency to skid. contd :- | ||
