81276. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}7/KT. January 1st, 1931. Chillcotts Limited, 240, Blackfriars Road, London. S.E.1. Dear Sirs, In reply to your letter C/F.{Mr Friese} of 31st.Dec, whilst we should very much like to retain the cut-out feature, we do not in any way wish to minimise the efficiency of the silencer. If, therefore, you find it impossible both to retain our design of cut-out and at the same time produce a silencer which is the most efficient you know, we shall not press the point. We will leave the decision entirely with you, stipulating only that a cut-out is incorporated which exhausts into the atmosphere at the rear end of the silencer. We are enclosing, herewith, as requested, blue print E.79108, which gives complete details of our design of cut-out. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS ROYCE LTD. | ||
