ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT ON CHASSIS 19-EX.

We understand that this chassis is now to be built up and in order to bring the electrical equipment up-to-date it will be necessary to carry out the following modifications :-

(1) Dynamo, distribution board and switchbox modified in order to bring them up to standard using the half charge resistance scheme. At the moment there is no half charge on this car.

(2) Starter motor main and relay switch unit requires to be modified to LeC.2804 and also by deleting teazer relay switch carbons.

(3) Starter motor should be experimentally modified by fitting felt lubricating pads to the two plain bearings similar to the Bosch. The experiment is to try and make the motor self-lubricating. We have found this method to be very satisfactory.

(4) Universal P & R battery should be fitted in place of the present battery. A new battery box will be required for this battery and we understand BY/RD. will instruct the necessary.

(5) A new speedometer is being obtained to suit the new conditions on this chassis and this will require to be fitted to the patch when it arrives.
