Hancock - Head Chateauroux} has pointed out that distortion of the float chamber cover, resulting in leaks, is due largely to strain imposed by the drain pipe, since this is rigidly connected both to the air vent chimney and to the tray, and any misalignment in the pipe causes the cover to be distorted on tightening up the joints. It is not considered that the drain on the tray serves any useful purpose, actually it has been deleted on Wraith since the commencement, so it is recommended that when dealing with such complaints the banjo should be cut off adjacent to the pipe, afterwards plugging up both the hole in the connection and the tapped hole in the tray.
