Mount Royal, MARBLE ARCH, W. 1. Tel. Mayfair 8040 Extension 449. November 19th, 1937. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr. Robotham, Attention of Mr. W. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Robotham. Thank you very much for your letter of the 16th inst. The SALOMON DYNAMIC DAMPER can only be"built in"- in an engine if the proper calculation has been made as to the masses of the radius of rotation, to the radius of their circumference to the radius of gyration and to the radius of the eccentric opening in which they rotate. This involves a very complete study and if occasionally the test you have made with the V12 has not given you the expected results the answer is that some mistake has been made. We have had the utmost wonderful results in similar cases and no doubt the modern engine construction will soon be equipped always with one or any kind of SALOMON DYNAMIC BALANCER, (Filtrating Masses). My idea was to discuss with you the general exclusive distributing licence for this Country giving you 20% interest in all sub-licences. As you know we have already given up a non-exclusive licence to The Bristol Aeroplane Co. I would therefore greatly appreciate if your experts would study carefully the big file of documents which I sent to them a few days ago and I certainly hope that an interview between your engineers, Mr. Salomon and myself will be of the greatest importance. I am returning to Paris to-day where my address is:- 74Bd.{Mr Berend} Exelmans, Paris, France, and I shall be very glad to hear from you. Yours very truly, GEORGE A.{Mr Adams} RUBISSOW. | ||
