Phantom III Piston Development.m Possibly this information may be already known to you but I am nevertheless sending you a copy of memo Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}1/T.8.2.36 showing what is instructed for the next piston development test to be run by Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} We considered using pistons with a straight taper on the skirt, but my feeling was that having established the advantages of the 1/8" parallel it was undesirable to revert to something which we knew would give us more clearance than we normally have at the bottom of the stroke, since, owing to the long skirt we wish to use on this piston it will still run out of the liner more than the 20/25.
