Mr. Hancock from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}

With reference to yours of Jan.1st. We note your remarks on the 20 HP, and we have come to the same conclusion ourselves.

We are of course hurrying on with experiments to increase the rigidity at the front of the car and as soon as we have any results will let you have the necessary pieces. We are sending off some plugs which we think may be suitable for the car.

With regard to the damping. This is the same as we have had on any other 20 HP. car in France. We believe that you have a quantity of springs if you wish to alter the loading. Actually, if the dampers are working properly, we are surprised that you are in trouble. The simplest way to put up the load is to take the washer from under the high pressure valve cap and increase the spring pressure on the low pressure valve by filing down the triangular retaining washer.

We are most interested in undershields at the moment. We find that we cannot do a reasonable test on the bump with mud flinging because we do not get the effect of the wheel dropping into a pothole, and splashing mud outwards. We attach a report from OY. and any work you can do on these lines would be very useful.
