In order to get the body started we have arranged for Park Ward to build it up temporarily of a standard chassis but we would like to have the real chassis as soon as possible so that the car can be completed by the coachbuilders and so avoid the difficulty and extra expense of mounting the body and finishing the wings in Derby. The only feature we would like you to leave off the chassis until after we return it to you is the new radiator. As without this the proper bonnet will not fit, you will have to let us have the bonnet for finishing although we cannot fit it.
We are insisting on delivery of the complete car by the middle of October.
The special features of "U" Series over and above those of the 2nd. part of "T" Series are.

(1) Sheet metal battery box and stock battery N.Sch.3278. We have to send to you a slight modification to the rear support which will follow in a few days.
(2) Petrol tank extended to the rear crossmember of the chassis. Design in hand. Only the tank is effected. Dashboard control to the reserve in the main tank.
(3) Rivetless bonnet with sheathed side hinges.
(4) Tubular crossmember carrying brake differentials to be 31ins. from the dash whether the standard or the Synchromesh gearbox be used.
(5) Exhaust silencer system like P.2. giving less loss of power than the present one. N.Sch.3285.-6-7.

For this chassis only we also require the following special features;-
(1) "F" Type steering, pedals and side levers.
(2) Special springs see EVI/28.I.3I. and N.Sch.3202.
(3) Louvres in the bonnet.
(4) Special extra wing stays. Design to follow.
(5) Synchromesh Gearbox. subject to there being another on for testing by Derby besides the one fitted to this car.
(6) Headlamps raised one inch.

The exterior finish is to be Untarnishable.
