Dear Sirs,

For the attention of Major Searight.

We have decided that we should like to try the hand pump on the petrol gauge.

We think that for a RR. gauge, which must be above suspicion, we can well afford to incorporate the pump as an additional factor of safety. We think that with this pump the gauge will be a superior to any on the market because we shall have a constant reading when running and at the same time shall be quite independent of over-night loss or position of the gauge in the tank.

We should like to make it quite clear that an improvement has been made in the pumping of the tank unit, but we do feel that the additional feature of hand-replenishing of the air bell with one sweep will overcome all our difficulties even including the man who regularly has his tank topped up.

Will you therefore please go into the question of supplying us with units to KS.180 and KS.175 for test.

Yours faithfully,
